These raincoats were made for Australian soldiers serving alongside US forces in Vietnam. Whilst the camo pattern was way ahead of its time (and often taken by members of US Special Forces), the waterproofing of the coat wasn't great, and troops referred to it as 'psychological only', thus these became known 'psycho camo'.
